Polar Express

So, yesterday was the big event that we had been waiting for - we were going to the North Pole by way of the Polar Express. Sidra has been anticipating it for weeks. We had to drive 2 hours north to get on the train. It was by far the coldest day of the year and there was snow on the ground up there in Lincoln, NH. We hit a McDonalds while we waited since it was across the street and I swear the McDonalds gave you the feel that you were in Colorado. They even had dual fireplaces in the place. We finally got on the train waiting in line for a little bit. The train was decorated for Christmas with garland and wall decorations including xmas music. All of the children were dressed in their pajamas. We were greeted by the conductor and then soon after we were moving. Sidra was in awe the train and the idea of going to the North Pole to see Santa. Then it happened, they brought the best hot chocolate I have ever tried in my life - a little hot but oh so good. Even brought a piece of chocolate around to munch on while we rode the train. After a 20 min train ride we made it to the North Pole were we were greeted by Santa's elves with lanterns in their hands to lead us to the town (well, actually a theatre that was decorated to look like the town). We listened to the story of the little boy that didn't believe in Santa that took the Polar Express train and the adventures he endured. In the end he met Santa and believed in him. They had Santa appear and greet all of the kids. Sidra was not having any of him but Jefferson wasn't shy. Then when the story was overwith we started back to the train. The kids were beat and we took it back home but not after getting a little souvenir - "A Bell". (well back to where the train started) Home was 2 hours away.

Here are some pics of us on the train and one of Sidra in her pjs before we left the house.
