Budget Update - Eck!
So, I have $129 left of the budget (12 days) which is scary because both of our cars hold about $40 to fill. Plus, I have not purchased my glasses YET! I did go to a place to look at styles and they are definitely cheaper out there than the places I have gone to in the past. I won't be able to find my Gucci glasses there but I think I'll be ok! :) Also, another b-day coming up so I think we'll be going over the budget by a little this month. I think the overall budget concept is great. It is really making me think about every single purchase I make and trying to justify each one realistically. I'm not a frivolous spender and I buy all of my things on sale and with coupons but I do like to shop for my kids clothes and I spend a lot on the chiropractor and massage therapy for my health (which is my justification).

Covergirl Outlast Lipstain
Last month I posted that I was a Bzzagent and received the product Outlast Lipstain by Covergirl. See my posting HERE. I have tested this product out several times and I have finally decided to post my opinion. First off, the concept of this product is to have the lipstain stay on for hours without coming off without the heavy look or feel of regular lipstick. Secondly it's suppose to condition and smooth lips. Well, here are my thoughts on the product - I really, really wanted to LOVE this!- Pro's - I like the idea of the marker concept and how to put it on. It does last a long time and doesn't have that heavy look at all plus it smells terrific, almost fruit like. That is it for the Pro's.
- Con's - It is really too dry. I didn't find that the lipstain is conditioning my lips at all, more like drying them out. I chose the color # 415 which is Teasing Blush and it is really dark. Blushes, pinks and mauves look good with my fair skin but this is too dark. I had to dab and rub some of it off just to get it where I don't look like a clown. After looking at the other color selections I don't see a single one that would work for me. Also, it is too pricey $8.99 for this - NO THANK YOU!

Budget as of 8/11/09
Ok, so after this weekends b-day lunch we have $240.00 left for the month. I have decided I'm going to hit Walmart today and see what their selection of glasses look like - at the most they might cost me $250 that is lenses included but I'll have to see if they have a some what decent pair since I wear my glasses at night and on weekends a lot. That takes me over the budget completely and we still need groceries and another b-day coming up on the 23rd. Oh NO is right!!! I might try to drag the glasses purchase out until later in the month so it doesn't hit this month but either way I need them. Oh, what to do!

My son broke my glasses and I need to see the eye dr and get some news ones since it has been since 2004 from my last eyeglass purchase. I suspect it will be around $500 for new ones. Wow, I can not believe how fast our budget goes out the window. A lot of our costs were me going to the chiro and massage therapist so I'm getting nervous that I won't be able to do it at $1500 this month. We have 2 b-days coming up! And I had to buy diapers the past couple of day - so amazing deals but still cuts into the budget - 17 days left - OMG!!! $462.55 left.

One Month's Budget
We give ourselves $1,500 a month for a budget. Some might think this is a lot and it might be for some but for me it's not - I love to shop, especially for the kids. We use our credit card for EVERYTHING so this includes gas for our cars, groceries, clothes, take out, birthdays, etc. I just started keeping track of it so I can impress my hubby and really stay at $1,500 (which I never do). Our credit card statements ends on 7/24 so I'm starting the tracking from 7/25 to 8/24. I can't believe it, we are only 10 days into the month and we are at $553.17 and that doesn't include my Gap purchase and dinner from Friday night. Oh no! How Well Do You Know Your Spouse? Updated
Fun exercise! I took this from one of my favorite blogs. We'll see if I get them right, I'll report back.
1. They are watching TV. What are they watching? Sports, sports, sports, sports!
2. You’re out to eat. what kind of dressing do they get on their salad? Thousand Island or Ranch
3. What’s one food this person doesn’t like? Seafood
4. You go out to the restaurant. He/she orders… Chicken Fajitias and a Coke!
5 .Where did he/she go to high school? Beverly High School
6. What size shoe do they wear? size 11 (my initial thought was size 9 but can't be) - size 8 - holy crap - he has really, really small feet. You know what they say about guys with some feet - giggle - just kidding!!!
7. If this person were to collect anything, it would be… Books - loves to re-read books. Or if you want to count the previous years ABPA cards and stats in notebooks from so many years ago.
8. What is their favorite type of sandwich? Ham and Cheese with pickles, onions and tomatoes
9.This person could eat Doritos and coke everyday. (maybe throw in a Dilly bar) - I can't believe I didn't get this one right - Pizza and Coke
10.Favorite cereal? Raisin Bran Crunch
11. This person wouldn’t be caught dead wearing.. anything that is not a t-shirt and shorts
12.Favorite sports team? Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and New England Patriots!
13. Who will he/she vote for? No one
14.What is their sign??? Virgo? I have no idea and I don't want to cheat and look it up.
15. What is something you do that he/she wishes you didn’t? Taking those long showers - what are you doing in there? You don't really have any hair!
16. How many states has this person lived in? 4 - MA, GA, CA and can you count Korea (not a state) for a short time while in the Army? 5 places - I forgot about SC
17. What is he/she’s heritage? Irish, Scottish and German (I think - I'm worried about this one) - Wrong no German but English (My gut was telling me English but I wrote German)
18. Did you bake them a cake for their birthday? No, the store bought ones taste better.
19. Did he/she play sports in high school? Yes, basketball, baseball and football
20. This person could spend hours…reading or watching sports and checking stats on line
